Donna Porter, 62, Union, passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, in Washington.
She was born Oct. 31, 1950, in Jonesboro, Ark., the daughter of the late Don Porter and his wife Myrtle, nee Powers.
Donna served her country in the Air Force National Guard for 20 years, and was later employed by the Department of Defense. She later went back to school to become a licensed practical nurse. Donna was employed as a nurse from 1998 until 2003 at Mercy Hospital and St. Clair Nursing Home. She retired in 2003.
Donna made her home in St. Louis until 1998, when she moved to Union.
She is survived by one daughter, Stacy Porter and husband Russell Blincoe Sr., Union; six grandchildren, Russell Jr., Chad, Noah, Tabitha, Tiffany and Samantha Blincoe, all of Union; two sisters, Sharon Harris and husband David, Edgar Springs, and Ruth Casselberry, Florence, Ore.; one brother, James Payne, Eugene, Ore.; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held Thursday, Jan. 24, at 12:30 p.m. at Oltmann Funeral Home, Union, with Pastor Leslie Dority officiating.
Burial followed in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis.
