Earl A. Grissum Jr., 59, Union, passed from this life to rejoin our Father and Daddy in heaven on Friday, March 22, 2013, in Union.
Earl, son of the late Earl A. Grissum Sr. and wife Elsie L., nee Thoroughman, was born Nov. 4, 1953, in Washington. He attended Union schools during his lifetime, graduating from Union High School in 1972.
Earl was preceded in death by his father, Earl A. Grissum Sr.
He is survived by his mother, Elsie L. Grissum, of the home, and three sisters, Marilyn Grissum, Phoenix, Ariz., Barbe Lendardt and husband Mark, Red Bud, Ill., and Roberta Grissum, St. Charles.
Earl was an avid collector of everything Native American and was very interested in Civil War history. He worked many years in the manufacturing of automobile parts and accessories, ending his career with Electro-Core, Washington. He also worked for SKF Foundry, Pevely.
Earl was a dedicated son, protective brother and loyal friend. He was always ready to greet you with an easy smile, a sense of humor and a helping hand when needed. Upon the death of his father in 1983, Earl dedicated his life to the care and well-being of his mother. He will be greatly missed.
Earl requested a private graveside service with his immediate family. The family will, however, arrange a memorial service for extended family members, friends and co-workers at a date to be determined in the near future. For those wishing to attend the memorial service, please contact his sister, Roberta, via Facebook.
