Gertrude J. Corbett, 86, Washington, and longtime resident of San Mateo, Calif., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, in Washington.
Mrs. Corbett, the daughter of the late David Boeckmann and wife Adelaide, nee Kopp, was born Nov. 13, 1926, in Washington.
She received her education from St. Francis Borgia Grade School, Washington. On July 3, 1948, she was united in marriage to Robert Corbett at St. Francis Borgia Church, Washington.
Mrs. Corbett was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Washington, the church's quilters club and Washington Historical Society.
She was employed as a corporate secretary for Bofors.
Mrs. Corbett was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Corbett; parents; and sister, Mildred Boeckmann.
She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Steckel and husband Richard, Washington; one brother, Charles F. Boeckmann and wife Dorothy, Wynne, Ark.; two sisters, Clara Massmann and Grace Brinker and husband Henry, all of Washington; two grandchildren, Nathan Steckel and wife Elizabeth, Columbus, Ind., and Katherine Steckel and fiance Marcus Younger, Columbia; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 4, at Nieburg-Vitt Funeral Home, Washington, with the Rev. Mike Boehm officiating.
Interment was in St. Francis Borgia Cemetery, Washington.
Memorials to Mercy Hospice or Franklin County Humane Society are preferred.
