Kenneth L. Lange(1927 - 2012)

Kenneth Leo Lange, 85, a resident of Croatan Avenue, Bath, N.C., formerly of Washington, lost his battle with cancer Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

A graveside service was held Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at 11 a.m. in Pamlico Memorial Gardens, Washington, N.C., officiated by Danny Smith.

The family received friends Wednesday, Jan. 2, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Hillside Funeral Service & Cremations, Washington, N.C., and other times at the home.

Mr. Lange was born in Washington, Mo., Oct. 20, 1927, the son of Leo Lange and wife Esther, nee Mohesky.

He served our country in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1964. The last 10 years he was a UDT Frogman and Seal Team member.

Mr. Lange worked for Westinghouse Electric from 1964 to 1990, which included numerous dives with Jacques Cousteau, retiring to Bath, N.C., in 1990. He leaves his loving wife of 50 years, Vernetta R. Taylor-Lange; son, Bruce R. Lange, Bozeman, Mont.; two daughters, Kimberly E. Lange-Williams, Fort Mill, S.C., and Karen L. Lange-Lehman, Stewartstown, Pa.; grandchildren, Ty and Kimi Nygaard, Bozeman, Mont., Crystal Williams-Livingston, Lincoln, Neb., Catherine Lange-Bailey, Australia, and Leo Lehman, Stewartstown, Pa.; and great-grandchildren, Isabelle and Madeline Bailey, Australia, and Berkeley and Bella Livingston, Lincoln, Neb.

Mr. Lange will be remembered fondly by all the lives he touched in his 85 years on this rock we call Earth and home. He was a loving soul to all those who knew him well.
