Raymond B. Grubb, 79, Union, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013, in Union.
Raymond, son of the late Norman Grubb and wife Gladys, nee Buckland, was born Jan. 22, 1934, in West Virginia. He served his country in the U.S. Army, receiving a purple heart
and honorable discharge.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Gladys Grubb; and two brothers, Hershel Grubb and Bill Grubb.
He is survived by his wife, Leola Rowden, Union; one son, Raymond B. Grubb II and wife Angela, North Carolina state; two daughters, Tricia Rego and husband Jeffery, St. Clair, and Kristie Schmidt and husband Gregory, Union; one stepdaughter, Dorothy Mathes and husband Joe; one brother, Norman Grubb and wife Geraldine, South Carolina state; two sisters, Lou Mikel and husband David, Arkansas state, and Ann Hickinbotham, Colorado state; seven grandchildren, Amanda Rego, Meghan Rego, Jeremy Rego, Joseph Rego, all of St. Clair, Kenneth Schmidt, Union, Ashley Grubb and Raymond B. Grubb III, both of North Carolina state; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, at Midlawn Funeral Home, Union.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, at Immaculate Conception Church, Union.
Entombment, with full military honors, will follow at Midlawn Memorial Gardens, Good Shepherd Mausoleum, Union.
