Ruth Straatmann, nee Siedhoff, 85, Washington, passed away Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at Cedarcrest Manor, Washington.
Mrs. Straatmann was born Nov. 17, 1926, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Harry Siedhoff Sr. and wife Caroline, nee Lause.
She was united in marriage Jan. 10, 1948, to the late Herbert Straatmann at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, Washington. The union was blessed with five children.
Mrs. Straatmann is survived by five children, Dale Straatmann and wife Karen, Keith Straatmann and wife Lisa and Karl Straatmann and wife Barb, all of Washington, Larry Straatmann and wife Bernadette, Houma, La., and Karen Poepsel and husband Bill, Memphis, Tenn.; three brothers, Gilbert Siedhoff and wife Eunice, Washington, Virgil Siedhoff and wife Elsie, Villa Ridge, and Maurice Siedhoff and wife Della, Bowling Green, Ky.; two sisters, Arlene Kuchem and husband Vic, Augusta, and Betty Laune, Bozeman, Mont.; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Harry Siedhoff Jr.; two sisters, Ethel Patke and Edith Heimann; and one great-grandchild, Courtney Morris.
A funeral Mass was held Monday, Sept. 24, at St. Francis Borgia Church, Washington, with Father Brian Hecktor officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
