Sherry L. Gudermuth(1960 - 2013)

Sherry Lynn Sparks Gudermuth, 52, St. Clair, passed away Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family.

Sherry, daughter of the late Edward Euell Hill and wife Patricia Ann, nee Chandler, was born Oct. 13, 1960, in Washington. As a young woman she was united in marriage and blessed to have two children. She was united in marriage to Jerry Alan Gudermuth Nov. 16, 1989, and two children came to bless this union.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Euell and Patricia Ann Hill; step-mother, Christine Hill; and parents-in-law, Edwin and Myrna Gudermuth.

Sherry is survived by her husband, Jerry Alan Gudermuth, St. Clair; three sons, Corey Sparks and fiance Cindy Lyden, Jefferson City, Thomas Sparks and fiance Michelle Boyer, and Andrew Gudermuth and fiance Melissa Barajas, all of St. Clair; one daughter, Trishta Gudermuth and fiance T.J. Moore, St. Clair; one brother, Thomas E. Hill and wife Betty, Lady Lake, Fla; two sisters, Phyllis Hinchcliff and husband Mark, St. Clair, and Darlene Hughes and husband John, Palmetto, Fla; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.

Sherry was a Christian, having been baptized in the Baptist faith at a young age. In recent years she enjoyed attending Canaan Land Ministries, St. Clair. Sherry had a variety of interests throughout her life, including reading and fishing. What meant most to her though, was her love for her family. Sherry made caring for her home and family her career in life, and she never tired of her job. Her children and grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, as she did in theirs. The love they shared and memories they created will forever be cherished by all of them.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, with the Rev. Fern Nye officiating, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home. Interment was in United Methodist Cemetery, St. Clair. Memorials may be made to the family.
