Aloysius Tony "Red" Reinecke, 81, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013, in Washington. |
Red, son of the late George Reinecke and wife Mary, nee Handling, was born Nov. 11, 1931, in Washington. He received his education at St. Joseph School at Neier. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, from 1952 to 1954. On Sept. 25, 1954, Red was united in marriage to Barbara Hilke at St. Gertrude Church, Krakow.
Red was an owner-operator truck driver since 1972. He was a member of ATHS-American Truck Historical Society and Immaculate Conception Church, Union.
Red was preceded in death by his wife Barbara on Aug. 11, 2005; one sister, Mary Ann Forget; one brother-in-law, Rene Forget; and special uncle and aunt, Tony and Irene Reinecke.
He is survived by one son, Doug Reinecke and wife Joyce, Washington; one daughter, Lisa Hanneken and husband Tim, Union; four grandchildren, Jeremy Reinecke, Samantha Reinecke, Alex Hanneken and Katy Hanneken; one brother-in-law, Wilbert Hilke and wife Mary, Krakow; one sister-in-law, Irene Hilke, Krakow; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, at Immaculate Conception Church, Union, with the Rev. John Deken officiating.
Burial followed in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Krakow. Memorials may be given to Immaculate Conception Church Building Fund or the American Truck Historical Society.
