Ann Hartbauer, nee Dethmann, 95, Washington, passed away Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013.|
Ann, daughter of Charles Henry Dethmann and wife Anna, nee Radke, was born Oct. 7, 1917, in Cuba, Mo. She attended school in Cuba, Mo. She was united in marriage to Paul Hartbauer Oct. 3, 1987. She worked at Union Electric for 28 years. Ann also worked at Miller's Dress Shop and Frick's Market, both in Washington. She was a faithful member of the Presbyterian Church, Washington. She enjoyed attending Bible study and led Sunday school for 17 years.
Ann truly enjoyed life. She served on the Washington Town and Country Fair Queen Committee for a number of years. She was a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan, attending the games whenever possible. She had a beloved poodle name "Little Bit." Ann enjoyed music, dancing, writing poetry, and had a wonderful sense of humor.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband Paul Hartbauer, whom she lovingly cared for until his time of passing; parents, Charles Henry and Anna Dethmann; and three sisters, twin Alice Forbes, Mabel Kapeller and Elsie Winterroth.
She cared deeply for her friends and family, and was survived by many loved ones.
A memorial service was held Monday, Oct. 14, at the Presbyterian Church, Washington, with the Rev. Patrick Gruber officiating. Organist was Dorothy Clarkson.
Memorials may be given to the Presbyterian Church or Mercy Hospice.
Loved ones of Ann were served by Nieburg-Vitt Funeral Home, Washington.
