Anna Francis Alfermann, 84, Washington, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013, in New Haven.|
She was born May 12, 1928, in Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Felix Pagan and wife Franchisa, nee Santiago.
In 1936, Anna and her family moved from Puerto Rico to New York and later moved to Washington in 1946.
On Nov. 24, 1950, she was united in marriage to Elmer Alfermann at St. Francis Borgia Church, Washington. The couple made their home in Washington and five children were born to this marriage.
Anna retired from Motor Appliance after 20-plus years. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Royal Neighbors and the Elks Auxiliary.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, March 30, 1999; one daughter, Linda Massmann, Aug. 3, 2010; and two sisters-in-law, Irene Deeken and Angeline Pagan.
She is survived by two sons, Ronald Alfermann and wife Mary, Washington, and Joe Alfermann and wife Lisa, St. Clair; two daughters, Cynthia Roesner and husband Daniel and Sandra Alfermann, all of Washington; son-in-law, Gary Massmann, Washington; 10 grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; one sister, Mary Feeney, New York state; two brothers, Ralph Pagan, Illinois state, and John Pagan, Washington; sister-in-law, Elaine Alfermann, Washington; brother-in-law, Bill Deeken, Jefferson City; other relatives and friends.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, March 5, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Washington.
Burial was in St. Francis Borgia Cemetery, Washington.
