1919 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
Anne Agnes De Simone, nee Konrad, 93, Union, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, in Washington.

Anne, daughter of the late Alexander Konrad and wife Veronica, nee Sienkowski, was born Dec. 19, 1919, in Philadelphia, Pa. She received her schooling in Philadelphia. Anne was united in marriage to Mr. Anthony De Simone July 29, 1937, at St Mary's Church, Philadelphia, Pa. They made their home in Philadelphia and moved to Union in 1979. During World War II, Anne was known as "Rosie the Riveter." She was employed at Fidelity Bank as a mail messenger. She then did charity work for various charities in the area until she was in her 80s. Anne was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Union.

Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony De Simone, in 1988; one daughter, Connie Strehlau, in 1978; and eight brothers and sisters.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Ennis and husband Russ, Union, and Elaine Brink and husband Scotty, Edmond, Okla.; four grandchildren, Donna Collins and husband Larry, Wildwood, Jamie Ennis and friend Tina, Union, Edward Strehlau and wife Lisa, Ridley Park, Pa., and Tony Strehlau and wife Kim, New Haven; nine great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

Services will be private.

The family is being served by Oltmann Funeral Home, Union.
