Barbara L. McGlenn Obituary
Barbara Lynn McGlenn, known to all as Barb, nee Land, 63, St. Clair, departed this life Monday, June 25, 2018, in Washington.

Barb was born June 1, 1955, in Highland, Ill., the daughter of Moses Henry Franklin Land, known to all as Henry, and wife Hester Ruth, nee Copling. On April 22, 1972, she was united in marriage to Ralph John McGlenn, known to all as John, and two children came to bless this union.

Barb was a Christian and member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Clair. She worked outside the home throughout her life and made friends wherever she worked. She had been employed at Hazel Inc. in Washington, for about 16 years; Vogelgesang's Mobil in St. Clair, for about 10 years; and the St. Clair license office for about 10 years, having retired about one year ago. Barb was an active, outgoing person who was very civic-minded and loved the community. She was a member of the St. Clair Parks Board and served as president from 2006 to 2011. She was in her fourth term and current president of the St. Clair Board of Aldermen. She was currently serving as the liaison between the park board and the board of aldermen. She also was active with the St. Clair Chamber and served on numerous committees for many of the events held in St. Clair, and was always lending a helping hand to make these events a success. Since retiring from the license office, she was happy to have more time to spend with her grandchildren, as they were truly her favorite hobby. She also enjoyed reading and was a great cook. Nothing made her happier than the time spent with her family, and many wonderful memories have been created.

Barb is survived by her husband, John McGlenn, St. Clair; one daughter, Karen McGlenn and boyfriend Carl, St. Clair; one son, Eric McGlenn and wife Lyann, St. Clair; 10 grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Johnny McGlenn, Jaden Mill, Carter Deppe, Gavin, Hayden, Makayla and Sam McGlenn, Bailey Thurman, Riley and Joley Ostendorf, all of St. Clair; two brothers, Gary Land and wife Becky, and Fred Land, all of St. Clair; one sister, Arlene Manasco and husband Wayne, Union; aunts; uncles; brothers- and sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews; cousins; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Hester Land.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 28, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, with the Rev. Jason Gaszak officiating, assisted by Travis Dierker.

Interment was in Crestview Memorial Park, St. Clair. Memorials may be given to the St. Clair Parks Department.

Arrangements were in care of Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair.
