Bette J. Quinn Obituary
Bette Jean Quinn, nee Sweezy, 89, Washington, formerly of Douglaston, N.Y., departed this life Thursday, June 7, 2018, in Washington.

Bette was born Dec. 30, 1928, in Altoona, Pa., the daughter of James Withrow Sweezy and wife Agnes, nee Mitsko. On Aug. 4, 1960, she was united in marriage to John J. Quinn, and they were blessed to have 39 years together.

Bette was a Christian, believing in the Lord as her Savior. While living in New York, she attended a Presbyterian church near her home. After high school, she attained her bachelor's degree, and for several years after college worked as a secretary in the business world. Bette loved music and was a talented pianist and vocalist. Singing in several chorus groups was a favorite pastime. She and her husband, John, traveled extensively and saw much of the world. Although she had no children of her own, she loved her nieces and nephews dearly and cherished the time she spent with them.

Bette is survived by her sister, Carole Hutchinson and husband Eldon, known to all as Dutch, St. Clair; and many nieces; nephews; great-nieces and -nephews; cousins; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Quinn, and her parents, James and Agnes Sweezy.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16, at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Pittsfield, Mass., under the direction of Dwyer Funeral Home, Pittsfield, Mass.

The family of Bette Quinn entrusted the care of their loved one to Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair.
