Beverly Jean Haefner Mohrman

1936 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
Beverly Jean Mohrman, 76, Montgomery City, passed away Friday, June 21, 2013, at Audrain Medical Center, Mexico, Mo., surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Sept. 5, 1936, in St. Louis, the daughter of Chester Haefner and wife Esther Emma, nee LeBlanc. Beverly graduated from Central High School, St. Louis.

She was united in marriage to Donald "Don" Edward Mohrman in Jennings Oct. 19, 1957. The couple moved to Montgomery City from Topeka, Kan., in February 1973, where they owned and operated a Phillips 66 Station.

In later years, Beverly worked with Don selling real estate and operated a thrift shop called "This & That." She also sold Avon. Beverly worked many years at the Workshop for the Handicapped, Mexico, Mo.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, one of the original members of the ARC group in Montgomery County and was instrumental in getting SB40 on the ballot.

Beverly enjoyed collecting stamps, traveling, watching NASCAR, working with all types of crafts and gardening. Her greatest joy and love was being with and visiting all her family, especially her grandchildren, and many friends.

Beverly is survived by her six children, Nell Mohrman and wife Kathy, Jefferson City, Donna Copeland, Troy, Michelle Smith and husband Greg, Wentzville, Judi Mohrman, Montgomery City "my town," Michael Mohrman and wife Brandy, Raymore, and Anthony David Mohrman and wife Heather, Destin, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul Leonard Haefner and wife Linda, Chesterfield; one niece, Tracy Haefner, Chesterfield; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Mohrman, Dec. 27, 2003; and parents, Chester and Esther Haefner.

Visitation was held Monday, June 24, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Schlanker Funeral Home, Montgomery City, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Russell Judge officiating.

Interment was in High Point Cemetery, west of Montgomery City. Casket bearers were Karl Roettger, Chris Roettger, Tom Sanning, Thomas Smith, Brad Hogenmiller and Thomas Bethel. Honorary casket bearers included Curtis Smith and Scout Mohrman.

Memorials to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Missouri Cancer Research or Montgomery City Lions Club for Leader Dogs for the Blind, in care of Schlanker Funeral Home, 207 Danville Road, Montgomery City, MO 63361 are preferred.
