Clarence Virgil Laubinger, 98, Leslie, passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, in Leslie.|
Clarence was born Oct. 20, 1914, in Leslie, the son of the late Jess A. Laubinger and wife Lockey, nee Armistead.
He received his education in Spring Bluff. In 1933, Clarence was united in marriage to Gladine Helling. The couple made their home on a farm in rural Leslie and 10 children were born to this marriage.
Clarence was proud to be a lifelong farmer. He also was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church, Leslie.
Clarence was preceded in death by his wife, Gladine Laubinger, Nov. 15, 1998; parents; four brothers, William Laubinger, James Laubinger, Joe Laubinger and Jesse Laubinger; five sisters, Victoria Fortner, Edith Elliston, Mildred Helling, Clara Belt and Hilda Fox; two grandchildren, Floyd Clarence Hickinbotham and Trina Laubinger.
He is survived by three sons, Audrey Laubinger and wife Candy, Eureka, Clarence Laubinger Jr. and wife Janet, Union, and Stanley Laubinger and wife Mary, Sullivan; seven daughters, Letha Hickinbotham, St. Clair, Carol Bandy and husband Clinton, Leslie, Joanne Schultz and husband Richard, Holt Summit, Sondra Biermann and husband Mike, Webster Groves, Darlene Branson and husband Kenny, St. John's, Cindy Gill and husband Don, Steelville, and Sherry Sexton and husband Mark, Camdenton; 24 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Nov. 20, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Oltmann Funeral Home, Union.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Baptist Church, Leslie, with Clarence's grandson, the Rev. Brad Laubinger, officiating.
Burial followed in the church cemetery.
