Clyde Austin, 67, Union, passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, in Union.|
Clyde was born May 23, 1945, in Sikeston, the son of the late Charles Austin and wife Mary Alma, nee Johns.
He received his education in Union. Clyde was united in marriage to Ronda Fields April 17, 1965, at First Baptist Church, Union, and they made their home in Union. Clyde was baptized as a child at First Baptist Church, Union.
He was employed as a welder for 45 years, first at Zero Manufacturing and later at Clemco, which had purchased Zero Manufacturing. Clyde was a member of the Union Moose Lodge, and a past member of the Union Volunteer Fire Department. The favorite joys of his life were his family, especially his grandchildren, and his love of fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Ronda Austin; two daughters, Robin Powers and husband Terence, O'Fallon, and Andrea Mueller and husband Samuel, Steelville; six grandchildren, Ryan, Bregal, Brittney, Kaylee, Emily and Andrew; one sister, Beulah McEwen, Union; other relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held Thursday, Dec. 13, at 11 a.m. at Oltmann Funeral Home, Union, with the Rev. Fred Banderman officiating.
Burial followed in Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the donor's choice are preferred.
