Danny L. Holland Obituary
Danny Lee Holland, 70, Union, passed away Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, at his home.

Danny, son of the late Victor Holland Sr. and wife Edna, nee Grant, was born July 8, 1947, in Washington. Danny received his education in Chamois until the eighth grade, when his family moved to Union. He graduated from Union High School in 1967. Danny was united in marriage to Carole Ann Peirick Feb. 8, 1969, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Villa Ridge, and the couple made their home in Union. He went to work after his high school graduation for a brief time for the Wood Hill Shoe Company. Later in 1967, he went to work at Preminer Company, where he was employed from 1967 to 1977 as a forklift driver. After Preminer closed, he worked at Jefferson Smurfit, until his retirement in 2012. Danny started his own DJ company, DC Sound, in 1983. He operated DC Sound with his wife until 2013. He and Carole enjoyed traveling and photography together. Danny also enjoyed woodworking and trains.

Danny is survived by one daughter, Suzanne Zwyers and husband Jim, O'Fallon; two grandchildren, Nicholas Alan Metts and Michael David Metts; one step-grandchild, Jimmy Joe Zwyers; one brother, Vic Holland and wife Vicki, Leslie; one sister-in-law, Charlene Cann, Washington; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carole Holland, Nov. 27, 2014; one son, Steven Holland, Aug. 21, 1991; his parents; and one brother, Dennis Wayne Holland, Sept. 1, 2011.

A funeral service was held Monday, March 5, at 7 p.m. at Oltmann Funeral Home, Union, with the Rev. Kevin Schmittgens officiating.

Burial was in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Union, Tuesday, March 6, at 2 p.m.
