Donald R. Grob, 85, Rolla, formerly of Union, passed away Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, in Rolla. |
Mr. Grob, son of August C. Grob and wife Maude, nee Nolting, was born Jan. 30, 1927, in Leslie.
On Jan. 30, 1948, he was united in marriage to Esther Limberg, Union.
He served his country in the Merchant Marines during World War II and received an honorable discharge.
He worked as a foreman for the state highway department for 41 years.
Mr. Grob was a member of the Living Waters Fellowship Church in Rolla.
He was preceeded in death by his parents and two sisters, Doris Ford and Minola Mohesky.
Mr. Grob is survived by his wife, Esther Grob, Rolla; two daughters, Patricia Recker, Creve Coeur, and Deborah Bleckman and husband William, Rolla; three grandchildren, Matthew G. Recker, Nashville, Tenn., and Brian W. Bleckman and wife Teresa and Lori A. Heavin and husband Ward, all of Rolla; five great-grandchildren, Cynthia Recker, Taylor Bleckman, Brooke Bleckman, Hannah Bleckman and Shelby Heavin; other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Midlawn Funeral Home, Union.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, at the funeral home, with Pastor Jimmy Lewis officiating.
Interment will be in Midlawn Memorial Gardens, Union, with full military honors.
Memorial donations to Living Waters Fellowship Church, Rolla, are preferred.
The family is being served by Midlawn Funeral Home, Union.
