Dorothy Lierman, 91, Concord Hill, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at Cedarcrest Manor, Washington. |
Dorothy was born to August John Gratza and wife Ethel M., nee Shaull, Aug. 7, 1921, in Washington.
She was united in marriage Oct. 16, 1948, to Alfred Lierman. They celebrated 44 years of marriage before his passing Dec. 10, 1992.
Dorothy was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Parish, Concord Hill. She was a member of the St. Ann Sodality.
Dorothy loved the Christmas season and enjoyed listening to Christmas music. In her earlier years she enjoyed needlepoint, gardening and playing bingo. Dorothy also enjoyed her cats and reading the paper.
She is survived by one son, Kenneth Lierman and wife Diane; two daughters, Darlene Hellebusch and husband Ambrose and Marilyn Fuhr and husband Lynn, all of Marthasville; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and two on the way; many other relatives and many, many friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alfred; parents; one brother; one sister-in-law; and one grand- daughter, Stacy.
A visitation was held Wednesday, Dec. 19, from 3 to 8 p.m. atLichtenberg-Martin Funeral Home, Marthasville.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, Dec. 20, at 10 a.m. at St Ignatius Catholic Church, Concord Hill, with burial following at the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Ignatius Catholic Parish or for Masses are preferred.
The family of Dorothy Lierman entrusted Lichtenberg-Martin Funeral Home, Marthasville, with her care.
