Dwane Carter Jr., 54, Amarillo, Texas, formerly of Warrenton, passed away Friday, Nov. 29, 2013.

He was born Dec. 6, 1958, in Amarillo, the son of Dwane Carter Sr. and wife Ruth. Dwane graduated from Caprock High School in 1977 before attending Amarillo College where he received his associate degree in fine arts.
Dwane worked for KCIT as a graphic artist and also for an advertising agency. He was united in marriage to Vicky Hood July 3, 1982, in Amarillo. Together they moved to Warrenton as missionaries. Dwane worked for Child Evangelism Fellowship, Warrenton, as a graphics artist for 13 years.
The couple returned to Amarillo three years ago to be near family during Dwane's time of illness. Dwane was an artist and enjoyed drawing. Above all, he loved his family and cherished all the time spent with them.
Dwane is survived by his wife, Vicky Carter, Amarillo; mother, Ruth Carter, Amarillo; four children, Courtney Brandwein and husband Alex, Warrenton, Seth Carter and wife Kelly, Oklahoma City, Okla., Hartley Carter and Aubrey Carter, both of Amarillo; four sisters, Teresa Arthur and husband Jerry, Cindy Belcher and husband Robert, Kristi Stephens and husband Scotty, all of Amarillo, and Janis Neely and husband Joe, Claude, Texas; five grandchildren, Isabelle, Collette, Henry, Josephine and Blaise; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dwane Carter Sr.
Visitation was held Monday, Dec. 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home, Amarillo.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Paramount Baptist Church, Amarillo, with Dr. Gil Lain officiating.
Interment was in Llano Cemetery, Amarillo.
The family was served by Cox Funeral Home, Amarillo.
