Edward Benjamin Risch, 94, Beaufort, passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, in Fenton.|
He was born Sept. 13, 1918, in St. Louis, the son of the late Maximillian Risch and wife Marie, nee Pleis.
Edward received his education in St. Louis and graduated from Hancock High School, Lemay. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving from January 1942 until November 1945. He was then employed at the National Archives for the Department of the Army.
Edward was united in marriage to Marie Rybolt June 1951 in St. Louis. They made their home in St. Louis and moved to Beaufort in 1968.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Risch, March 1, 2003; parents; two brothers, Ray Risch and Michael Risch; four sisters, Rose Hayden, Elizabeth "Tootsie" Hartman, Charlotte Bauman and Arlene Skaggs; and brother-in-law, Pete Stoplos.
Edward is survived by two brothers, Harry Risch and wife Ceil, St. Louis, and Charles Risch and wife Shirley, Beaufort; one sister, Marie Stoplos, Lemay; other relatives and many friends.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Oltmann Funeral Home, Union, with the Rev. Arpad de Kallos officiating.
Interment followed in St. Jordan's Cemetery, Beaufort. Memorials to St. Jordan's Cemetery are preferred.
