1912 - 2012 Obituary Condolences
Eithel Z. Crose, 99, Surprise, Ariz., formerly of Washington, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012.

Mrs. Crose was born Nov. 27, 1912, on her family's farm in Smith Township, Carroll County, the daughter of James Smith and wife Lottie, nee Jones.

She graduated from Bosworth High School in 1930.

Mrs. Crose was preceded in death by one sister, Edith Shine, and two brothers, Delmar and Delbert Smith.

In 1937, she married Paul T. Crose, also from Bosworth. Mr. Crose departed this life in 1991.

The couple lived, worked and loved in St. Louis and Overland, where they raised their three children.

The Croses relocated to Washington in 1972.

A lifelong accomplished musician, Mrs. Crose taught piano and was a longtime organist at Hanley Hills Baptist Church, St. Louis.

She moved to Surprise, Ariz., in 2005.

Mrs. Crose is survived by her daughter, Paula Lewis, Surprise, Ariz.; her sons, James G. Crose, Las Vegas, Nev., and John L. Crose, Overland and Bosworth; seven grandchildren, Steven Crose, Douglas Crose, Gregory Crose, Lisa Lewis Sernett, Lauralee Lewis Compton, Lyndsey Lewis Crable and Kristen Crose; 13 great-grandchildren, Kirsten Crose Padilla, Cacia Crose, Natasha Crose, Christopher Tyson Crose, Samuel Sernett, Caroline Sernett, Harrison Compton, James Compton, Emma Crable, Sarah Crable, Jack Crable and Owen Crable; one great-great-grandchild, Ellie Padilla; other relatives and many friends.

Her quick wit, shining personality and optimistic view of life will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

The family was served by Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel and Cremation Center, Sun City West, Ariz.
