During her working career, she was employed at Ray's Sew & Vac in Washington as a store attendant. Fern enjoyed doing cross stitch and collecting lighthouse memorabilia. She also was an avid reader and enjoyed planting flowers in her garden. Her family was her life, and she dearly loved her children and grandchildren. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will forever live in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Skip Reed; one son, Gerry Reed; her parents, the Rev. Fred and Bertha Burnett; her stepmother, Ethel Tourville Burnett, nee Hopkins; and one sister, Janet Smith.
