Gleena M. King Obituary
Gleena Mae King, nee Scaggs, 89, Union, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018.

Gleena, daughter of the late Lawrence Scaggs and wife Zella, nee Miller, was born May 1, 1929, in Annapolis, Mo. She was united in marriage to Cletis King Aug. 19, 1946, in Arkansas. They raised their family in Overland, and moved to Annapolis, Mo., after retirement. In 2002, the couple moved to Union. Gleena enjoyed sewing, watercolor painting and teaching ceramics in her shop in Annapolis, Mo. She was proud of her volunteer work after moving to Union. She became an active member of the Washington V.F.W. Auxiliary and Mercy Hospital Auxiliary.

Gleena is survived by three daughters, Brenda Utterback and husband Ronald, Union, Rose Wilde and husband John, Foristell, and Reva King, North Carolina state; two sons, William King and wife Kitra, Eldon, and Robin King and wife Jane, Fenton; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; six sisters, Mary Ruth Wiley, California state, Trula King and husband Donald, Bismarck, Carolyn Palmer and husband Norman, Franklin, Ind., Tamara Sutton and husband Bill, Farmington, Lee Ann Stubbe and husband Ron, Florissant, and Jenni Friederich, St. Peters; two brothers, Roger Scaggs and wife Nany, Indianapolis, Ind., and Randall Scaggs and wife Sharon, San Francisco, Calif.; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cletis King, in 2005; her parents; one sister, Patty Gayle Scaggs; one brother, Orville "Bubby" Scaggs, and one brother, "Baby Boy,"^ in infancy.

A funeral service was held Monday, July 2, at 1 p.m. at Oltmann Funeral Home, Union, with Pastor Lance Langenberg officiating.

Burial followed at 1:30 p.m. in St. Joseph-Neier Cemetery, Union.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Mercy Hospital Auxiliary or the .
