Harvey C. Becker, 90, Augusta, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Cedarcrest Manor, Washington.|
Harvey, son of the late August C. Becker and wife Helene C., nee Laumeier, was born July 23, 1922, in Augusta. He served in the U.S. Merchant Marine, in World War II.
Harvey was a cattle and grain farmer. He was a member of Femme Osage United Church of Christ, Femme Osage. He also was a member of the St. Charles County Cattlemen's Association and Pork Producers Association. Harvey was a past member of the St. Charles County Fair Board.
Harvey was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Becker, nee Joerling; parents, August C. and Helene C. Becker; one son, Douglas S. Becker; one brother, Homer Becker; and two sisters, Mildred Schnarre and Eunice Webbink.
He is survived by two sons, Leon A.J. Becker and wife Jo Marie, Augusta, and Bruce H.L. Becker and wife Karen, Marthasville; one daughter, Janice I.H. Held and husband Richard, New Franklin; one sister, Esther Schiermeier, Foristell; one sister-in-law, Verna Becker; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 14, at Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 15, at Femme Osage United Church of Christ, Femme Osage.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Femme Osage United Church of Christ or Femme Osage Cemetery Fund, in care of Pitman Funeral Home, 1545 Wentzville Parkway, Wentzville, MO 63385.
