Herbert Joseph Heggemann, 83, Concord Hill, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013, at Mercy Hospital St. Louis, Creve Coeur, surrounded by his loving family.|
He was born June 9, 1929, in Concord Hill, the son of the late Edward Heggemann and wife Minnie, nee Sickmann.
Herbert was united in marriage to the love of his life, Mary Ann Bader, April 20, 1963, in New Haven. They celebrated 50 years of wonderful marriage.
Herbert was a lifelong farmer. He also was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Parish, Concord Hill. Herbert was a former member of the board of directors for the Warren County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed gardening and being with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann Heggemann, Concord Hill; nine children, Joan Schwede and husband Dennis, Fulton, Rose LaRoe and husband Lester, Union, Tom Heggemann and wife Paula, Warrenton, Joe Heggemann and wife Katina, Mike Heggemann and wife Lisa, Robert Heggemann and wife Amy, Charlie Heggemann and wife Carla, all of Marthasville, John Heggemann and wife Barb, Washington, and Nicholas Heggemann and wife Tiffany, Winfield; 23 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jerome Heggemann, Marthasville, and Andrew Heggemann and wife Eleanor, Warrenton; one sister, Sister Gregory Heggemann CPPS, O'Fallon, many other relatives and friends.
Herbert was preceded in death by his loving parents, Edward and Minnie Heggemann; four sisters; one brother; and one grandson, Carson.
A visitation was held Wednesday, May 15, at Martin Funeral Home, Marthasville, from 3 to 8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian burial is scheduled to be held Thursday, May 16, at 10 a.m. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery, Concord Hill.
Memorials may be given to St. Ignatius School, in care of Martin Funeral Home, 510 E. Main St., Warrenton, MO 63383.
