Herman R. Lanvermeier, 69, Robertsville, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014 at his residence. |
Herman, son of the late Herman F. Lanvermeier and wife Mildred V., nee Cropper, was born July 22, 1944, in Lincoln County. He entered the U.S. Army in 1961, at Fort Leonard Wood, where he served his country in Korea and was later honorably discharged. He was a boilermaker for 32 years, and member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Eagles and American Legion Post 320, Pacific, where he held office as secretary. Herman enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Herman was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Virginia A. Lanvermeier and Pamela K. Lanvermeier; and two infant brothers.
He is survived by one daughter, Tracy Lanvermeier, O'Fallon; one son, Richie Lanvermeier, Corpus Christi, Texas; one sister, Elaine Kozbil and husband Bob, New Haven; one brother, Steve C. Lanvermeier and wife Sharon, Old Monroe; seven grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
Friends were received from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at Kemper-Marsh-Millard Family Funeral Home, Troy Chapel.
A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, at the chapel.
Interment, with full military honors, followed at Old Alexandria Cemetery, Troy.
