James William "Bill" or "JW" Janes, 92, Pacific, passed away Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012.
Mr. Janes was born June 22, 1920, in Farber, the son of William James Janes and wife Georgia, nee Day.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Haddy Ruth Janes, nee McCoy; two sisters, Lola Lummner and Elizabeth Sheridan; and one brother, Johnny Janes.
Mr. James is survived by his loving wife Millie Pendleton-Janes; one sister, Virginia Nutt, nee Janes; one stepdaughter from his first marriage, Eldean Barnes and husband William, Moberly; five stepdaughters from his second marriage, Janet Witherby and husband Frank, O'Fallon, Joyce Katich, Ballwin, Pat Ferris and her late husband Jim, Washington, Sandy Weber and husband Rich, Grover, and the late Kathy Corbett; two sisters-in-law, LaVerne Calvin, nee Krueger, Washington, and Dorothy Pendleton, nee Krueger, Wildwood; one brother-in-law, Harold Krueger, Belmont, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
A funeral service was scheduled to be held Tuesday, Sept. 4, at 6 p.m. at Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory, Ballwin.
Interment will be Wednesday, Sept. 5, in Laddonia City Cemetery, Laddonia.
