James L. Boozan, 82, Warrenton, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at St. Joseph Hospital West, Lake Saint Louis.|
James was born March 15, 1931, in La Plata, the son of the late Louis Boozan and wife Martha, nee Tonkinson.
He was a graduate of La Plata High School. James was a retired telegrapher for Norfolk & Southern Railroad. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. James was a member of the Warrenton American Legion and Golden Oldies Club. He was a charter member of the Optimist Club in Warrenton.
James enjoyed pitching in the local softball leagues. He loved Notre Dame football and St. Louis Cardinals baseball.
He is survived by one son, Daniel Boozan and wife Shelly, Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters, Robin Miller and husband Larry, Warrenton, and Aimee Newburry and husband Don, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Chelsea, Mackenzie, Elena and Charles Jameson; other relatives and many friends.
James was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
A visitation was held Friday, March 29, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home, Warrenton.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 30, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial followed in Warrenton City Cemetery.
