Jean C. Benedict-Yates Obituary
Jean Catherine Benedict-Yates, 62, Lake Ozark, passed away Friday, May 25, 2018.

Jean was born Jan. 15, 1956, in Springfield, daughter of the late Eugene Joseph Benedict and wife Wanda, nee Renken.

Survivors include one brother, John Benedict, Washington; one sister, Geri Benedict-Wiseman (Jim), Jefferson City; two nephews, Alex and Matt Benedict, both of Washington; her former husband, Steve Yates; one stepdaughter, Stephanie Yates; one grandson, Zander; and several loving cousins.

Jean was a registered nurse and worked at Lakeland Behavioral Health Systems as a care support specialist. She had a wicked sense of humor, green thumb and a love of animals. She was a free spirit and did things her way. She was loved by all her friends. Her passing will leave a hole in many hearts! She could light up a room with her smile and her voice could soothe your soul.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 5, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.

A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eldon, with the Rev. Alex Gabriel officiating.

A private family interment will be held at the Olean Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials in Jean's name are suggested to the Dogwood Animal Shelter of Osage Beach.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.
