John J. Boehm, 88, St. Louis, baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, died peacefully Saturday, March 2, 2013, surrounded by his family.

He was born Sept. 10, 1924, in St. Louis, son of the late John "Red" Boehm and wife Mary, nee Mannion.
Beloved husband for 60 years of Pat, nee Tragesser; loving father of Mary Kay Castello and husband Jim, Bill McDermott and wife Debbie, John and wife Jan, Ray and wife Terri, Jean Hinman and husband Burry, Rich and wife Mary, Bob and Stephanie Morgan, Jim and wife Pam, Tom and wife Anne, and Fr. Mike Boehm;
Loving paw-paw to Katie, Dave, Patti, Matt, Emily, Lisa, Nick, Tom, Kelli, Nick, Kelly, Christine, Jill, Jennifer, John, Amy, Kevin, Adam, Bridget, Charlie, Rob, Natalie, Sarah, Linda, Mike, Alex and Mimi;
Great-grandfather to Dominic Johnson, Ryan and Brooklynn Ruengert and one to be born in July;
Dear brother of the late Marg Morris and husband Bob, the late Charlotte McDermott and husband Pat, Theresa, Irene McCann and late husband Joe, Bob, Ray and wife, the late Pat, the late Dick, Patsy Deutschmann and husband Fred and Dottie Daniels and husband Dick;
Dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, coach and friend to many.
PawPaw took great pride in loving Memaw and all of his kids and showered his grand and great-grandkids with boundless love - whom he just couldn't listen to enough, love enough, see enough. Every one of them knows he loves them and always will.
John was a longtime member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, University City, a member of Gentlemen of Sound Barbershop Chorus and a longtime volunteer at Catholic Charities.
His concern for others continues with the donation of his body to SLU School of Medicine.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated this Saturday, March 9, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 7148 Forsythe Blvd., University City, MO 63105.
In lieu of flowers, a permanent memorial will be established at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Washington, in the near future.
