Johnny Rendell Lawson, 51, Gerald, passed away suddenly Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, in Washington.|
Johnny was born April 17, 1961, in Martin, Ky., the son of Rendell Hue Lawson and wife Anna Vonda, nee Moore.
He graduated from Rochester High School in Rochester, Ind. On Dec. 20, 1980, John was united in marriage to Cheryl Draper in Macy, Ind. The couple moved to Union in 1983 and later to Gerald.
John was employed as a general supervisor for Pace Construction Company, St. Louis. He was a member of Carpenters Union Local 1839.
John was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ed and Euna Moore; paternal grandparents, Eddie and Harriet Lawson; uncle, Gordon Moore; and great-nephew, Taylor Lawson.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Lawson, Gerald; two children, Austin Lawson and Amanda Lawson, both of Union; two grandchildren, Warren and Briar Hasenbeck, Union; parents, Rendell and Anna Lawson, Rochester, Ind.; two sisters, Denise Peterson and husband Dwight, Winamac, Ind., and Dawn Holtmeyer and husband Scott, Fort Wayne, Ind.; two brothers, Dave Lawson and wife Viki, Rochester, Ind., and Anthony Lawson and wife Jacquie, Winamac, Ind.; many other relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held Monday, Feb. 4, at 11 a.m. at Oltmann Funeral Home, Union.
Burial followed in Skaggs Cemetery in Belle.
