Joseph A. Vagedes Jr. Obituary
Joseph Anthony Vagedes Jr., 80, St. Clair, was accompanied by his wife and family as he passed from this world to meet our Lord and Savior Thursday, July 5, 2018, at his home.

Joseph, son of the late Joseph Vagedes Sr. and wife Isabella, nee Salisbury, was born May 18, 1938, in St. Louis. On May 1, 1992, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth, in Eureka.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Vagedes, St. Clair; four children, David Vagedes and wife Donna, Fletcher, Jen'nai Young, St. Clair, Christina Smith and family, House Springs, and Joseph C. Vagedes and family, Hillsboro; one sister, Patricia Henkin, Webster Groves; and uncle, mentor, confidant and so much more to a countless number of nieces and nephews.

Joseph was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Vagedes; his parents, Joseph Sr. and Isabella Vagedes; and one sister, Virginia Altmeyer.

"Uncle Joe," as he was so affectionately known, was the owner of Jefferson County Glass for 50 years. Joseph was a valued member and sponsor to many for the Alcoholics Anonymous organization. He built two homes from scratch, and many will know of the lighthouse on the hill. Joseph was and will always be remembered as the man who people went to for advice and fun. He was an artist, father, husband, runner, soccer player and was always there to help and give a helping hand. Joseph will be missed and remembered by all who met him, and he touched every life he encountered.
