Dr. Kent Eugene Bruder, 67, Washington, passed away Monday morning, Feb. 4, 2013, at Mercy Hospital Washington.

He was the son of Herbert Eugene Bruder and wife Dorothy Jean. Kent was born July 21, 1945, in St. Louis. He married the love of his life, Nancy Weiss, June 6, 1970, in St. Louis.
Kent attended high school at CBC in St. Louis. He graduated from St. Louis University with a major in biology, and a minor in chemistry, psychology and philosophy. Kent graduated magna cum laude from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Dental School with a doctorate in dental surgery. He continued his education at St. Louis University and obtained a M.S. specializing in orthodontics. Kent practiced orthodontics for 40 years and loved every minute of it.
He was a loving husband, involved father and playful grandfather who was an active member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, Washington, since 1995. Kent was an active member in the community and many service organizations, including Washington Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, Elks, Rose Society, Dinner of the Month Club and American Dental Association, and a loyal supporter of the Red Hat Mamas. In his spare time, Kent enjoyed spending time with friends and family, working on his farm, visiting Shaw's Garden and the Hill, helping his family with home repairs and volunteering his time for the betterment of others.
His family includes his wife, Nancy Bruder, Washington; three daughters, Julie Huebner and husband Lance, Liberty, Mary Kaser and husband Phillip, Kansas City, and Carolyne Wehner and husband Michael, Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, Tyler and Brody Kaser and Cooper Wehner; three brothers, Ron Bruder and wife Sandy, St. Louis, Randy Bruder and wife Bobbi, and Rick Bruder and wife Laurie, all of Ballwin; three sisters, Peggy Blanner, Wildwood, Pam Mogab and husband Dennis, Cape Coral, Fla., and Sue Richards and husband Bill, Catawissa.
The Bruder family was served by Oltmann Funeral Home, Washington.
