Launa Rose Mueller Brown, nee Davis, 79, St. Clair, departed this life Saturday, July 5, 2014, at St. Clair Nursing Center, St. Clair, surrounded by the love of her children. |
Launa, daughter of the late Arthur M. Davis and wife Myrtle, nee Miles, was born Aug. 1, 1934, in Henry County, Mo. As a young woman she was united in marriage to Jerome L. Mueller, and three children came to bless this union. They were blessed to have 18 years together.
Launa was a Christian of the Baptist faith, and believed in the Lord as her Savior. During her working career, she was employed by Deb Shoe Company, St. Clair, and Monark Plastic Company, Union. She retired from Borg-Warner, Washington. After retiring, she was employed at Wal-Mart, Sullivan. In the late 1980s, she also owned and operated the ice cream shop located in the plaza in St. Clair. Launa had a variety of interests throughout her life, but especially enjoyed sewing quilts and pillow people for her grandchildren. All of her family and friends treasured the coasters she sewed for them over the years. What brought her the most joy was time spent with her family. Her children and grandchildren held a special place in her heart, as she did in theirs. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will live in their hearts forever.
Launa is survived by three children, Debbie Hoff and husband Steve, Steve Mueller and wife Nadine, all of St. Clair, and Tammy Norton, Leslie; one brother, Stanley Davis, St. Clair; two sisters, Shirley McClung, Springfield, Ill., and Joan Storey, Tallahassee, Fla.; one brother-in-law, William Garstang, Republic; one sister-in-law, Darlene Davis, Sullivan; five grandchildren, Eric Johnson and wife Paula, Frisco, Texas, Danielle Travis and husband Jason, Logan Gilbert, all of St. Clair, Gretchen Black and husband Daniel, Sullivan, and Ian Mueller, of O'Fallon; six great-grandchildren, Brent Johnson, Frisco, Texas, Kennedy Travis, Jaxon Travis, Tyler Travis, all of St. Clair, Chase Black and Jordan Black, both of Sullivan; nieces; nephews; great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
Launa was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Myrtle Davis; father of her children, Jerome L. Mueller; four brothers, Montrose Davis, Orville Davis, Lawrence Davis and Norman Arthur Davis; four sisters, Dorothy Goodman, Carmel Garstang, Juanita McCord and Laura Mae Davis; and two infant siblings.
A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great- and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, Launa will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
