Louise M. Nolan Obituary
Louise Marie Nolan, nee Gioia, 88, Dutzow, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018, in Washington.

Louise, daughter of the late Mario Gioia and wife Louise, nee Colombo, was born Nov. 21, 1929, in St. Louis. She attended St. James the Greater Grade School in the Dogtown area of St. Louis and graduated from Ursuline Academy. Louise received her bachelor's degree in English from Webster University in 1951. On June 23, 1951, Louise was united in marriage to Mr. Raymond Nolan, at Sacred Heart Church, in Valley Park. They made their home in the St. Louis area before moving to a farm in Dutzow in 1962. She was always willing to help her husband on the family farm, and she would occasionally substitute teach at St. Vincent de Paul Elementary School.

Louise was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Dutzow and the Washington Elks Lodge Ladies?Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, playing bingo, trivia games, sewing, embroidery, the St. Louis Cardinals and her cats. Louise enjoyed life, and always held a special place in her heart for the Christmas season. She loved being around her family, and especially enjoyed watching her great-grandchildren playing in sporting events.

Louise is survived by three daughters, Penny Toedebusch and husband Jeff, Cathie Gildehaus and husband Joe, all of Dutzow, and Margie Wieland, Marthasville; four grandchildren, Mario Kriete and wife Liz, Washington, David Gildehaus, Chris Wieland and wife Andrea, all of Dutzow, and Caitlin Palmer and husband Chris, St. Louis; five great-grandchildren, Taylor Holtmeyer, Kansas City, Kan., Chase and Blaze Kriete, both of Washington, and Nolan and Macy Wieland, both of Dutzow; one sister, Antoinette Wahlig and husband Walter, Grubville; one nephew, Grant Wahlig, Crestwood; dear friends, Pat Terschluse, Arla Eisenhower and Angie Koch; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, Dec. 13, 2003, and her parents.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, May 15, at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Dutzow, with the Rev. Gene Robertson officiating.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

Memorials to St. Vincent's School or the Franklin County Humane Society are preferred.

The family was served by Oltmann Funeral Home, Washington.
