Margaret D. Reed Obituary
Margaret Darlene Reed, nee Love, 78, St. Clair, departed this life Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017, at her home surrounded by the love of her family.

Margaret was born Oct. 20, 1939, in Sullivan, the daughter of George Cecil Love Sr. and wife Velma Maggie, nee Shadrick. On Sept. 27, 1958, she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, John Edward Reed, and four children came to bless this union.

Margaret was a Christian and past member New Hope Baptist Church, Sullivan. Margaret was a talented seamstress and outgoing person, and for over 40 years, she owned and operated Margaret's Upholstery in St. Clair. There wasn't anything she couldn't upholster and has done many cars, planes and all types of furniture. She enjoyed all types of crafts and doing oil painting, and was very creative. Painting rocks was a recent pastime, turning them into decorative yard ornaments. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling and going on rides in John's restored cars. She was also a past member of the Red Hat Society. Nothing made Margaret happier than spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren, as she loved each of them dearly. She was a kind, caring and generous person who would willingly lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

Margaret is survived by her husband, John Reed, St. Clair; three daughters, Sheila Reichle and husband Mark, Wildwood, Shelly Young, St. Clair, and Sheri Gardner and husband Cliff, St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands; three grandchildren, Andrea and Alex Reichle, both of Wildwood, and Brody Young and wife Alexandria, St. Clair; two great-grandchildren, Cali and Cason Young, both of St. Clair; four brothers, George Cecil Love Jr., known to all as Cecil, and wife Karen, St. Clair, Eddie Love and wife Peggy, Jackie Love and wife Laura, and Boyd Love and girlfriend Sandy, all of Sullivan; five sisters, Irene Wall and husband Jim, Dorothy Cates, known to all as Dottie, all of St. Clair, Sharon Liggett and husband Joe, Marshall, Vera Quade and husband Butch, St. Clair, and Lisa Mann and husband Steve, Sullivan; nieces; nephews; great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews; cousins; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Sr. and Velma Love; her infant twin son, Kelly John Reed; and one sister, Betty Jennings.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, with the Rev. John Pursley officiating.
