Marjorie Elizabeth "Marge" Ruston, 92, Union, passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, in St. Clair.|
Mrs. Ruston was born Monday, Oct. 4, 1920, in Union, the daughter of the late John Overschmidt and wife Cecelia, nee Klenke.
She received her education at Immaculate Conception School and graduated from Union High School.
Mrs. Ruston worked for many years in shoe factories, including Carmo Shoe, Bourbeuse Shoe and Brown Shoe.
On June 13, 1953, she was united in marriage to Willard "Musty" Ruston at Immaculate Conception Church, Union, by Father Rost.
Mrs. Ruston was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Altar Society and Western Catholic Union.
She is survived by one brother, Ronald Overschmidt, Union; one sister, Mildred Sullivan, Union; four nephews, Ted, Paul, Phil and James Overschmidt; three nieces, Lola Carter, Nancy Bourgeois and Kim Overschmidt; great-nieces and -nephews; great-great-nieces and -nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Mrs. Ruston was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Ruston, May 9, 1981; parents, John and Cecelia Overschmidt; one brother, Jerome Overschmidt; one sister, Marcella Roesner; and two nephews, Louis Vitt and Tim Overschmidt.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Thursday, Oct. 11, at Immaculate Conception Church, Union, with the Rev. John Schneider officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
Memorials to Immaculate Conception School or Masses are preferred.
