Martha "Marty" Carol Hart-wig, nee Hammond, 65, Cuba, Mo., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, in Union.|
Marty, daughter of William Hammond and wife Mary, nee Gorie, was born May 3, 1948, in Searcy, Ark. She received her education in Washington. She was united in marriage to Jeff Hartwig Nov. 21, 1977, in Washington. The couple made their home in Washington. They moved to Cuba, Mo. in 1996. Marty was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church, Washington.
Marty was preceded in death by her father, William Hammond.
She is survived by her husband, Jeff Hartwig, Cuba, Mo.; three daughters, Wendy Jean and husband Mike, Union, Angela Miller and husband Steve, New Haven, and Carolyn Townsley and husband Larry, Kingman, Ariz.; mother, Mary Cardwell, Sullivan; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Mary Murphy and husband Morris, Fenton; one brother, David Hammond and wife Cheryl, Mexico, Mo.; nieces; neph- ews; other relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Friday Aug. 16, at Oltmann Funeral Home, Union, with the Rev. Mike Jean officiating.
Burial was in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Fort Leon-ard Wood.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Franklin County BackStoppers.
