Martin Stone Obituary

Martin Andrew Stone, 58, Washington, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013, at Mercy Hospital Washington.

Martin, son of the late William Hiatt and wife Shirley, nee Hawkins, was born June 6, 1954, in Austin, Texas. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. Martin was a member of the American Legion. He loved fishing, hunting, being outdoors, collecting antiques and steins and traveling. Martin was a culinary artist.

Martin was preceded in death by his parents, William and Shirley Hiatt.

He is survived by three sisters, Mary Phillips and special friend Dan Scharfenberg, Washington, Debra Vandergriffe and husband Dick, New Haven, and Molly Watson and husband Roy, Jefferson City; one brother Richard Stone and wife Chong, Copperas Cove, Texas; special friend, Dave Yates and wife Cindy, McKittrick; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at Richard Vandergriffe's residence, 405 Clover Lane, New Haven.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society in care of Bank of Franklin County.
