Mary Helen Bragg, nee Weidner, 91, St. Clair, departed this life Tuesday, March 20, 2018, in St. Clair.
Mary was born Dec. 25, 1926, in St. Louis, the daughter of William Weidner and wife Mary, nee Rose. On March 14, 1955, she was united in marriage to Glendon Otho Bragg, known to most as Glen, and three children came to bless this union.
Mary was a Christian and devoted member of First Baptist Church in St. Clair. She was an active member of the church as long as her health allowed. During her working years, she was employed as a bookkeeper, and through the years worked at Gold Key Real Estate Company in Union, Todd Buick car dealership in Union, and Cobion GMC in St. Clair. She was a talented seamstress and also enjoyed doing embroidery and crocheting. In more recent years, she liked to play bingo with her friends. Nothing made Mary happier than the time she spent with her family, and each of her grandchildren held a special place in her heart.
Mary is survived by two sons, Glendon Bragg, known to most as Butch, and life companion Tina, St. Clair, and Clayton Bragg and wife Debbie, Washington; two stepchildren, William G. Bragg, known to all as Bill, and wife Bobbi, Long Beach, Miss., and Kay Plymel, Keller, Texas; one brother, William Weidner and wife Dee, Dupo, Ill.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews; cousins; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Bragg; her daughter, Glenda Harris, known to all as Pat; one granddaughter, Chrissy Bragg; her parents, William and Mary Weidner; and one brother, Albert Weidner.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 23, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, with the Rev. Jim Muir officiating.
Interment was in Crestview Memorial Park, St. Clair.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, St. Clair.
Arrangements were in care of Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair.
