Milferd R. "Jake" Elfline Obituary
Milferd Ray "Jake" Elfline, 86, Hermann, passed away Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, at his home.

Milferd, son of the late Benjamin K. Elfline and wife Mary B., nee Gentry, was born Aug. 24, 1931, in Big Spring. He was the husband of Loretta Frances, nee Bruckerhoff, Elfline. They were united in marriage April 14, 1956, at St. Joseph Church, Rhineland. Loretta survives him at their home.

Milferd was a member of St. Paul's Church, Berger. He worked for Binkley Company in Warrenton for many years. He also was the alderman of Berger for 14 years.

He is also survived by their children, Milferd R. Elfline Jr. and wife Michelle, Donald J. Elfline, all of Hermann, Lori A. Heichel and husband Steven, Overland Park, Kan., David W. Elfline and wife Jennifer, Hermann, Robert D. Elfline and wife Jennifer, Rosebud, and Victoria L. Held and husband Andrew, Hermann; one sister Mildred Brautigam, New Haven; one brother, Melvin G. Elfline and wife Juanita, Summerville; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Milferd was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jill Elfline; one great-grandson, Elijah Garner; his parents; two brothers, Marvin and Milburn Elfline; a stillborn brother; and one sister, Margaret Elfline.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 14, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Church, Berger.

Memorials may be given to St. Paul's Church or Hermann Area Crusade Against Cancer, in care of Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home.
