Milton "Boots" Peters Obituary
Milton "Boots" Peters, 80, Washington, passed away Friday, June 22, 2018.

Boots, son of the late Milton Peters and wife Lillie Mae, nee Mills, was born Sept. 1, 1937, in Washington. In 1955, Boots married his wife, Celeste, at St. Francis Borgia Church, and together they raised four children. Boots was a business owner in Washington. For 23 years, he worked at Boeing, prior to owning Champion Sports and Classic Awards. Boots also was a member of Elks Lodge 1559.

Boots is survived by his wife and friend of 65 years, Celeste Peters, Washington; his children, Sheryll Berger, Dawn Tucker and husband Dr. Leslie, Jamie Getsee and husband Kent, all of Washington, and Brad Peters and wife Beth, Eureka; one sister, Shirley Martin, Columbia; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Ella Jean Neier; his parents, Milton and Lillie Mae Peters; and one sister, Billie Daniels.

Visitation was held Thursday, June 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt Funeral Home, Washington.

A memorial service followed at the funeral home chapel, beginning at 4 p.m., officiated by the Rev. Jim Theby.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Borgia Regional High School or the Franklin County Humane Society.
