Mrs. Ecker, daughter of the late William Elliot and wife Catherine, nee Wallace, was born Feb. 28, 1910, in Ridgeway. She was united in marriage to Dr. D.B. Ecker in 1939. Mrs. Ecker graduated from Northeast Missouri State Teachers College, Kirksville, and taught elementary school in Pacific. She was an active member of Pacific Methodist Church, teaching Sunday school and directing music programs for children. She was a charter member of the Twentieth Century study club, organized in 1937. The group supported the Pacific Library, Cancer Control fund, polio fund, Red Cross bloodmobile and school band program. Mrs. Ecker also was active in Girl Scouts and appointed Girl Scout chairman for the Twentieth Century study club in 1958. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, as well as a 69-year member of P.E.O., chapter BU, serving all offices. The couple lived in Sun City Center, Fla., following Dr. Ecker's retirement.
Mrs. Ecker was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. D.B. Ecker; and parents, William and Catherine Elliot.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Katherine Ann Kneedler and husband Dr. Charles, O'Fallon, Ill., and Mary Alice Galloway and husband Keith, Fulton; four grandchildren, Christopher Kneedler, Pasadena, Texas, Lori Molitor Verona, Wis., Suzanne Sabo, Memphis, Tenn., and Donald Galloway, St. Louis; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were private. Interment was in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Belleville, Ill.
