Odilo "Odie" Brinker, 90, Washington, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013, in Washington. |
Odie, son of the late Henry Brinker and wife Mary, nee Hilke, was born March 28, 1923, in Washington. He was united in marriage to Florence Dieckhaus April 3, 1948, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Dutzow.
Odie was a parishioner at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Krakow, a member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of Carpenters Local 1839 for 53 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Brinker; parents, Henry and Mary Brinker; three brothers, Leander Brinker, Sylvester Brinker and Virgil Brinker; and four sisters, Eleanor Schlitt, Lidwina Schlitt, Sister Odilo Brinker, SSND, and Mary Elizabeth Brinker, in infancy.
Odie is survived by three sons, Jim Brinker and special friend Kathy Ham, Mike Brinker and wife Gloria, and Danny Brinker and wife Sheila, all of Washington; four daughters, Kathy Obermark and husband Ray, Sharon Voss and husband Charles, Mary Lee Aholt and husband Dave, all of Washington, and Chris Redd and husband Brian, Marthasville; three brothers, Orville Brinker and wife Irene, Henry Brinker and wife Grace, and Leonard Brinker and wife Agnes, all of Washington; two sisters, Margaret Schade, Columbia, and Olga Krienkamp and husband Ray, Kirkwood; two sisters-in-law, Georgia Brinker, Villa Ridge, and Catherine Brinker, Collinsville, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 14, at Miller Funeral Home, Washington.
A funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Krakow.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to St. Gertrude Grade School or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
The Brinker family was served by Miller Funeral Home, Washington.
