Patsy Ann Bennett, nee Leary, 70, Warrenton, passed away Sunday afternoon, Nov. 17, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. |
Mrs. Bennett was born Jan. 5, 1943, in Detroit, Mich., to Homer Leary and wife Mary Lou, nee Stallings. She was one of six children.
Mrs. Bennett was married to Ira "Jack" Bennett Nov. 26, 1959, in Ridgeley, Tenn. The couple had two children, Tim and Scott. They celebrated almost 54 years of marriage.
Mrs. Bennett was a homemaker for most of her life. Her true joy in life was taking care of her family. Mrs. Bennett played a major role in the upbringing of her granddaughters, Ellen and Danielle, from making sure they got to school in the mornings to attending all of the events they were a part of. She enjoyed her great-grandchildren as well. Mrs. Bennett always had a loving nickname for each of her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Homer Leary; son, Scott Bennett; one sister, Sharon; and one brother, Terry Leary.
Mrs. Bennett is survived by her husband, Jack Bennett, Warrenton; son, Tim Bennett, Wright City; three sisters, Gail Mann (Steve) and Betty Carroll, all of Indiana state, and Karon Waugh (Doug), Nevada state; two grandchildren, Ellen Bennett, Washington, and Danielle Buerman, Wentzville; other relatives and many friends.
Visitation for Mrs. Bennett was held Wednesday, Nov. 20, at Martin Funeral Home, Warrenton, from 4 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Nov. 21, at 10 a.m. with a burial to follow at Linn Cemetery, Wentzville.
