Paul Raymond Dudley, 87, Pacific, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018, surrounded by his loving family at St. Clair Nursing Center, St. Clair.

Paul was born Dec. 15, 1930, in East St. Louis, Ill., to Gilbert Dudley and wife Alta Louise, nee Lamkins. He graduated from East St. Louis High School in 1949. As a young man, Paul enjoyed playing sports, square dancing, and during the summers, working on his relatives' farms in southern Missouri.

Paul met and married his loving wife, Marjorie E. Conner May 24, 1951, in Arkansas. At the time of his death, they had been married 67 years. To the union, five children were born, Patricia (Lee) Schulte, Affton, William (Susie) Dudley, St. Peters, Peggy (Jeffery) Boyer, Union, Susan Dudley, Eureka, and the late Donald Dudley. Paul had five grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Jennifer Jill Dudley, Columbia, Jon (Drazana) Dudley, Columbia, Jessica Dudley, Overland Park, Kan., Erin (Travis) Wasser, Olathe, Kan., and Lindsey Boyer, Union. Paul also was a father figure to numerous other people near and far, especially Cristina Chrispin, Dr. David (Beatriz) Junker and Dr. Tercio (Debora) Junker of Brazil, and their families.

Paul believed in supporting his family, church and community. He retired from Union Electric after 37 years of service. He was vice president of Operating Engineers Local 148 for 10 years. An avid supporter of his children's activities, he enjoyed fishing and the St. Louis Cardinals. He was a volunteer fireman, serving as assistant chief in Cahokia, Ill., and member of various church boards. For the past several years, he assisted at the Eureka Methodist Church mission dinners and delivered bread to the Pacific Agape House each Monday.

Visitation was held Saturday, March 10, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Schrader Funeral Home, 108 N. Central Ave, Eureka. Visitation was also held at Eureka United Methodist Church, 215 North Central Ave., Eureka, Sunday, March 11, from 1 p.m. to time of service at 2 p.m.
