1939 - 2018 Obituary Condolences
Robert W. "Bob" Breckenkamp, 78, Washington, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Mercy Hospital Washington.

Bob, son of the late Walter Breckenkamp and wife Marcella, nee Toben, was born Aug. 14, 1939, in Washington. He was united in marriage to Albertha "Bert" Maune Oct. 2, 1965, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church. Bob was proud of his career in the Washington Fire Company and U.S. Army, and retired in 1999 as a command sergeant major. After his retirement, he enjoyed working seasonally at Boone Valley Golf Course in Augusta. He was a sir knight of the fourth degree with Knights of Columbus Seisl Council 1121, and loved watching and cheering his grandchildren on at their sporting events.

Bob is survived by his wife, Bert Breckenkamp, Washington; two sons, Kurt Breckenkamp and wife Cherie, Dutzow, and Scott Breckenkamp and wife Julie, Washington; two sisters, Doris Sullentrup, Krakow, and Janet Branson, Union; seven siblings-in-law, Betty Schmucke, Beaufort, Millie Chisholm, Virgil Maune, Jim Maune and wife Shirley, Tom Maune and wife Jane, all of Washington, Shirley Maune, St. Louis, and Leonard Piontek, Washington; six grandchildren, Joel, Kelly, Nathan, Tyler, Connor and Spencer; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and 10 siblings-in-law, Lester Sullentrup, Ed Branson, Clarence Overschmidt, Harry Chisholm, Wilbert Maune and wife Millie, C.J. Maune, Jerrine Maune, Gerry Piontek, Paul Schmucke and Helen Maune.

Visitation was held Thursday, March 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home, Washington.

A funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 9, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Washington.

Interment followed in St. Francis Borgia Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial donations are appreciated to the St. Francis Borgia Regional High School Athletic Association or Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
