Ronald James Myers Sr., 70, St. Clair, passed away Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, in St. Clair. |
Ronald, son of the late Frank Anthony Myers and wife Rose Elsa, nee Huth, was born July 15, 1943, in St. Louis. He was united in marriage to Ann Marie Lukefahr Aug. 27, 1996, and one son came to bless this union.
Ronald was a Christian and member of St. Clare Catholic Church, St. Clair. He was employed as an assembler at Daimler-Chrysler Corporation, Fenton, retiring after 25 years of service. He was a proud member of United Auto Workers Local 110. Ronald also was a member and past historian of American Legion Post 347, St. Clair. He was proud to have served his country in the Missouri Army National Guard. Ronald had a variety of interests throughout his life, including fishing, camping and feeding birds. He loved having family gatherings, but most of all loved time spent with his son. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will forever live in their hearts.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Anthony and Rose Elsa Myers; and one brother, Wayne Myers.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Myers, St. Clair; one son, Ronald J. Myers Jr., St. Clair; one brother, Gerard Myers and wife Janet, Owensville; one sister-in-law, Karen Myers, St. Clair; two brothers-in-law, Dan Lukefahr, Warren, Mich., and Carl Lukefahr and wife Yvonne, St. Peters; nieces; nephews; great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, with a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
A funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at St. Clare Catholic Church, St. Clair, with Father Bob Knight officiating.
Interment was in Midlawn Memorial Gardens, Union.
Memorials may be given to the Franklin County Humane Society.
The Myers family was served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair.
