1948 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
Ronnie Charles Alexander, 64, St. Clair, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at his home in St. Clair.

Ronnie, son of the late Eldon Jesse Alexander and wife Ruth Margaret, nee Martin, was born Dec. 22, 1948, in St. Clair. He was united in marriage to Carol Jane Haussels Jan. 30, 1975. Two children came to bless this union.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Eldon and Ruth Alexander; one brother, Chester Alexander; and two sisters, Mary Lou Keen and Shirley Downey.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Jane Alexander, St. Clair; two sons, Scott Alexander and wife Chrissie, Wentzville, and Michael Alexander and wife Sheenah, Sullivan; two grandchildren, Mystie and Justin Alexander, Sullivan; one sister-in-law, Zona "Delores" Alexander, St. Clair; two brothers-in-law, Robert Keen, St. Clair, and Jerry Haussels and wife Joan, Rolla; nieces; nephews; great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.

Ronnie was a Christian and devoted member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Clair. For many years, Ronnie had been the greeter at the church as well as being active in many church functions. Ronnie was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, entering Dec. 22, 1965, and receiving his honorable discharge Nov. 8, 1968. He was very patriotic and a Marine at heart. He was a member of the Marine Corps League, South Side Division of St. Louis. During his working years, Ronnie was employed as a security officer for federal buildings in St. Louis. In his younger years, Ronnie enjoyed hunting and fishing. In recent years, he enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Ronnie was a friend to all, a kind and gracious man who was always willing to lend a helping hand to others.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, with the Rev. Roger Altenberger officiating. Interment was in Crestview Memorial Park, St. Clair.
